Housed in a convenient 500 series lunchbox-style chassis, the dbx 510 Subharmonic Synthesizer is designed to enhance the low end in live sound reinforcement applications, such as for mobile DJs, nightclubs, houses of worship, theaters, concert venues, broadcast, and more. It does this by synthesizing a waveform modeled bass note, exactly one octave below the bass signal of the original audio. In comparison to other forms of low frequency enhancement, this approach does not affect the equalization of the mid or high frequencies.
The module offers two separate bands of bass synthesis, each with a knob for setting the level of the synthesis, as well as an overall subharmonics level control and a low frequency boost control. A synthesis bypass button allows you to A/B the effect of the module on your signals and LED indicators provide visual feedback of the process.
