The Soundcraft Vi400 Control Module Upgrade is a powerful enhancement designed to replace the original Vi4/6 “silver box” control modules. This upgrade significantly improves performance through a faster processor and more reliable hardware, including hard-soldered DisplayLink graphics outputs, which eliminate the less stable PCI graphics card used in the original design. The upgrade enables the use of a customized version of the V6.x software, offering a refined feature set that matches the Vi2/4/6 console capabilities.

This solution is ideal for extending the useful life of existing systems, transforming them into dependable emergency backup units or giving them renewed functionality when a full Vi5/7000 upgrade is not yet feasible. After the upgrade, Vi4 or Vi6 consoles will retain their physical form but will appear as Vi400 or Vi600 on the menu screen.

Key advantages include faster boot time, responsive surface behavior, and new 3D-Vistonics touchscreen graphics, similar to the Vi000 series.
