The inspiration for the Corona came from Sontronics’ own Halo, a dynamic mic designed for guitar tracking, that found itself in front of singers as well as guitar cabinets, according to user feedback. Since the Halo was not designed for vocals, Sontronics founder Trevor Coley set about the task of making a similar mic that was—and the Corona dynamic vocal mic was born.
