Designed to deliver improved performance and modern functionality, this upgrade features a faster processor and soldered-in DisplayLink graphics outputs, replacing the outdated PCI graphics card used in earlier systems. It runs a specialized version of the V6.x software, offering a streamlined feature set tailored to the Vi2/4/6 control surface and Local Rack hardware.
This module offers an excellent way to revitalize aging systems, enabling a Vi4 console to continue functioning as an emergency backup or remain in active service even after an upgrade to a Vi5/7000 system. Despite retaining its external appearance, the upgraded console identifies as a Vi400 on the main menu screen.
Enhanced capabilities include quick 30-second boot time, fast surface response during layer changes, and the sleek 3D-Vistonics touchscreen graphics found on newer Vi000-series consoles. It supports powerful tools like Shure mic monitoring, console mirroring, Virtual Vi online control, ViSi Remote control (with EQ, dynamics, and metering), and expanded I/O flexibility.
The Vi400 Control Module is compatible with both classic Vi4/6 Local Racks and the advanced Vi5/7000 Local Rack, enabling future-proof functionality and access to upcoming V6.x software updates (within hardware limitations).
