This intuitive design encourages hands‑on control for scratching, cueing, looping, and transitions when used with Serato DJ Lite, which the controller is fully compatible with right out of the box; it also supports Serato DJ Pro with an upgrade.

The DDJ‑REV1’s larger jog wheels are the same size as those on higher‑end Pioneer controllers, offering precise tactile response for scratching and beat juggling. Dedicated Lever FX paddles let DJs apply effects dynamically without losing control of the mix, while Performance Pads provide access to Hot Cues, Auto Loops, Sampler, Tracking Scratch, Trans, and Scratch Bank modes for creative performance techniques.
