The AlphaTheta SLAB is a dedicated hardware MIDI pad controller developed in collaboration between AlphaTheta and Serato specifically to unlock and enhance the workflow of Serato Studio, a powerful sample-based music production and beat-making DAW. Designed for producers, DJs, and creators, SLAB brings intuitive hands-on control to sequencing, sampling, effects, and arrangement, allowing you to create complete tracks more fluidly than with a mouse and keyboard alone. Featuring a grid of velocity-sensitive RGB pads, a large multifunction dial, a long-stroke touch strip, and touch-sensitive encoders, SLAB lets you trigger samples, play beats, finesse parameters, and sculpt stems directly from the hardware.
One standout capability is precise Stems Level control, enabling you to isolate and adjust individual elements such as vocals, drums, bass, and melody on the fly when used with supported Serato software, including Serato Studio, Serato Sample, and Serato DJ Pro — expanding creative possibilities for both production and live performance. The controller integrates seamlessly with Serato Studio’s full feature set — and automatically unlocks the complete version of the software when connected — turning any space into a flexible production workstation.
