Sontronics HALO is a striking-looking dynamic microphone designed for use on guitar amps and cabinets. The HALO has a dynamic capsule suspended on four spring mounts within a circular frame that protects the microphone from vibrations and rumble on stage or in the studio. HALO is based on the Sontronics STC-80, a handheld dynamic microphone that gives stunning results on vocals, but which has also been increasingly used to great effect on guitar amps for live and studio work. For HALO, Sontronics took the STC-80 capsule, enhancing it slightly to capture the exact frequencies of your guitar amp and to take into account the different length and depth of the capsule housing. The result is the Sontronics HALO, which gives you all the bite, crunch and presence you could wish for without need to lay a finger on the EQ. Any guitarist shouldn't be without one! HALO is yet another of Sontronics founder and mic designer Trevor Coley's stunning vintage-inspired creations, reminiscent of the SATURN multi-pattern condenser mic. STC-10 is a pencil-style cardioid condenser microphone. It has been designed using the same technology as Sontronics’ existing pencil condenser mics, but has purposely been introduced to create an even more affordable option in the ever-growing Sontronics range. No Compromise in Quality The STC-10 actually has the same basic internal architecture to the Sontronics STC-1, it's just stripped down its feature set to give producers and musicians a super affordable option. Pencil condenser microphones are ideal for spot-miking applications or used as a stereo pair for overheads. The STC-10 is great for drums, percussion and acoustic instruments. It has also proved useful in film production work when used on a boom. All the Basics Covered Although the STC-10 was designed with affordability in mind, it still features a built-in attentuation switch (choose 0dB or -10dB) and a low-cut filter (75Hz) to make it extremely flexible in all situations.
